Happy Friday Tigers! It's hard to believe we are one month into the 2021-2022 school year. It has been chaotic to say the least with all of the different COVID/quarantine measures, but it is so great to have all of our kiddos back in the building learning and working in a safe environment.
As of right now, we are unaware of any upcoming changes concerning the mode of instruction. If this changes we will be the first to let you know and to begin modifying the current speech schedule. I know that during ARC meetings several parents have expressed concerns regarding instruction changing to the NTI format, but until we are told otherwise it is not something we are planning on doing.
Miss Lauren will be leaving us here at TES and becoming the full-time SLP at the recently opened Spencer County Early Learning Center. We will miss her very much, but know she will continue being an excellent SLP to all of the young Spencer County students! Along with Miss Lauren's transition, we will have a new SLP working with our Kindergarten and 1st Graders at TES. We are currently interviewing candidates but do not have a the position filled. As soon as we hire a new SLP we will be in contact if your child switches from Miss Lauren/Miss Paige to them.
Over the past few weeks we have worked on a variety of things in our speech therapy sessions including "About Me" speech worksheets where we discussed our speech goals and current grade level, Chipper Chat sound and articulation game, and September 11th/Patriot Day comprehension packets and good citizen worksheets. I am very excited about the the upcoming month because we will be doing many fall activities -including some spooky and fun Halloween things!
If you are not on my Remind app, please reach out and we can fix that. Also, if your child has an ARC meeting we will be conducting the majority of them via phone/Zoom to eliminate extra people in the building during this time. If you need to be in-person please let me know. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions/concerns you may have. I hope everyone had an enjoyable long weekend last week and that you enjoy this beautiful weather we are having right now!
