Hello TES Family! We hope that you are all doing well and have been able to find a sense of normalcy in the midst of all of the chaos of the world right now. While it has been a very odd and sad 8 days without going to school physically, we hope that you have been able to check out some of the resources that have been provided here on the website.
By now you should have received a Remind app invitation from either Miss Paige or Miss Lauren. We will be using this helpful app to send reminders, ask questions, and check in. Over these past few days you probably have heard of/seen the Zoom video conferencing app. This is a tool that we have also been using as faculty to communicate, and we are toying with the idea of having speech check-ins using it as well. While these speech Zoom videos will not consist of therapy, we would love more than to see and interact with all of you guys while we are separated. If nothing else comes from this temporary way of life, our use of technology has sure improved!
Over the next few weeks we will sharing additional resources on this page as well as on the TES Facebook page. We will also be providing short videos to help in working on specific sounds and language skills -think "Speech Tips & Tricks of the Day." (We are copying this idea shared by one of our favorite bloggers -the Peachie Speechie!)
As of now it seems like we will be returning to school on April 20th, but things are continuing to change daily so we must continue to be patient and practice social distancing to stay healthy. We continue to encourage you to reach out with any questions/concerns, or just to say hi :)
On a final note, there are several students who have upcoming annual ARC meetings in the upcoming weeks. We are working to decide what the best route is to have or reschedule these. As of now, we plan to continue with meetings and use Zoom or a teleconference call to have them. If you know your child's ARC meeting is coming up, be on the lookout for emails, calls, and/or mail that may provide additional information.
